BASEBALL 2024 SCHEDULE
TRAVEL BASEBALL: Green Hornets offers specific opportunities for those kids wishing to play baseball at a higher level. Those opportunities exist for players from ages 8 - 14. Our travel baseball league utilizes the April 31st/May1st age cut-off/age determination date. The number of games, depending on the wishes of the coaches, could vary, and may be 40 to 70 games during the spring and summer. Travel throughout the area and out of state may also occur, depending on the leagues, tournaments, etc. It is important to understand that the opportunities at the travel team level require competitive tryouts. Playing time, batting line-up and position rotation are determined by the coaches and may not be equally distributed. Tryouts are typically held late in the summer or early in the fall prior to the operative spring season. Travel team seasons typically include winter work-outs, spring league play and spring and summer tournaments. Some travel teams elect to play a fall schedule after tryouts as well. Travel teams are self-funded and require additional fees and expenses over and above the standard registration fee. Travel Baseball involves a significant time and financial commitment. In addition to the contacts listed below, specific questions can also be directed to Commissioner, Michael Phillips [email protected] or to Travel Coordinator, Dave Ferris, 410-987-2320, [email protected].
